Okay, so heres the thing, we were supposed to talk a lot more about Gamescom Opening Night Live… Somehow we got sidetracked with all the show watching goodness, but rest assured we will continue to cover everything we missed and the rest of Gamescom on the next one!
Hello and welcome back to the grind games podcast. My name is Rob Garcia and, as always, sitting down with Francis and our good buddy, zero's Heaven. What's up, boys?
Speaker 1:What's happening? What's up? What's going on with you, francis? Not much, not much, just busy day Opened my car. I had to actually like try to fix it. Open the fuel pump, open the engine. You know it was just crazy. And still I can get the rough idle fixed, uh, but you know it's okay, struggling, yeah struggling what about you?
Speaker 2:zero?
Speaker 3:what about me? Uh, I don't know. I was underwater for like a night, oh, you didn't have to, it's fine. Nah, it's fine. It was a huge fucking flood, but it's okay. Now Everything is fine, the floors are dry and my electronics are safe.
Speaker 2:I figured as much Because I saw you streaming last night actually.
Speaker 3:Oh yeah, dude, it's hilarious If you go back to that VOD. You hear me freaking out.
Speaker 2:No, no, no.
Speaker 3:After like last night, I saw you streaming, so okay, everything's good, he's doing all right all right, so the vod before that one you can actually hear like the whole from when I was like what's happening and like oh my god.
Speaker 2:And then it's just fucking pandemonium.
Speaker 3:You can, you can hear it.
Speaker 2:So he's saying no, not like this. So when?
Speaker 3:you're streaming like it was like, really like pouring, yeah, oh as he was streaming I want to see that yeah, no, if you want to go, look at the vod, it's not the one from last night, it's the one from the night before, night before sushi. That's the name of the vod I'm talking about sushi.
Speaker 1:There's a good.
Speaker 3:I'm playing dave the diver that game is butter crisp, it's so good that game is good.
Speaker 2:I like I haven't finished it.
Speaker 3:I'm like 10% into it and I don't want it to stop.
Speaker 2:It was really for some reason, I don't know why I fell off of it. The loop was fun.
Speaker 3:The loop is fun and you can definitely fall out of that loop and be like but I don't know, I haven't fallen out of that loop and I want to play more and. I want to play more. I want to get more stuff. I want to go deeper. I want to get the better harpoon gun and just harpoon things in one shot.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I'm pretty. I wouldn't be surprised if I was close to the ending of the game, or at least more than halfway, because I put hours on that game. Which one? Dave the Diver, dave the Diver, yeah game. You basically play a retired diver, yeah, but who looks like gabriel inglesias? No, he doesn't. Yes, he does, oh, I guess.
Speaker 3:So yeah, he's just you can't tell me no. No, his facial reactions like the way he sits sometimes I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 2:When you first said it, all I heard was iglesias not the father and son, not julio.
Speaker 3:He will Jose Marco Inglis, not them, but he looks like Gabriel Inglis. He really does.
Speaker 1:You know the weather today. You know what it feels like. I miss my childhood days just playing Game Boy. You know like like playing Game Boy, pokemon, Mario, whatever.
Speaker 3:Zelda, right, I was that kid that had the link cable, link cable. I walked around with the link cable To trade with people Like real life people.
Speaker 2:I had it too. I don't know how I got some of that stuff. It was probably my brother.
Speaker 3:I don't remember half the shit that I used to get, Like how did I get this memory card? I didn't have money. Where the fuck did I get this from? Stole it from somebody.
Speaker 1:Ask your parents for a rechargeable battery or something with the light during the night, so that you know you know that.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, the sleep light, yeah.
Speaker 3:The worm light. Yeah, yeah, oh, that's just horrible.
Speaker 2:That was before the SP came out. Man, I love the Game Boy Advance still, though.
Speaker 1:I'm playing right now, what I'm feeling right now playing Castlevania. Which one?
Speaker 2:The Soma Cruise. Game Boy, game Boy. The first one is on Game Boy, the second one is on 3DS. Right, no, game Boy Advance or DS. Yeah, that one is what I'm feeling, right now you have the Soma.
Speaker 3:That's when you started off on that one. Yeah, have the soma. That's when you started off on that one.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the game, the other the one before it with the guy with the short hair, the belmont. Oh yeah, that's my favorite one. I forget the name of lament, that's something else. I don't even, um, I don't even count the game boy games necessarily. It's aside from pokemon or this ninja boy, one that I used to play, it's game boy advanced. That's, that's where it was always at for me, game boy, yeah, advance, yeah, no, for me too you can play Game Boy Color.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you can play Game Boy Color, but still, come on, it's not the same Game Boy.
Speaker 3:Color, the Pokemon games, pokemon Crystal. You know you had all the silver gold, all of them, emerald, emerald and all that shit. It was great, but the SP gave me the serious case of claw hands bro.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, because it was not made, it was a square. Oh okay, it was small, it was a small square.
Speaker 3:You sacrifice your hands to be able to see wherever you're playing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but back then I didn't care. I loved the clamshell. Neither did I. The only time it actually gave me any pain or made it difficult was when I had to play a game that used the lnr button oh, I was playing megaman zero, yeah, so you had all the time? Yeah, it was me too yep yep if you did rpgs, you were fine what was that?
Speaker 1:I forgot what rpg I played, but I played a lot.
Speaker 2:Oh come on the rpg golden sun, golden sun, golden sun, golden sun, breath of fire. One, two, yeah, three is ps1 right, but breath of fire, yeah. Rpg. Golden Sun, golden Sun. Golden Sun Breath of Fire 1, 2, 3 is PS1, right, but Breath of Fire, yeah, they put a lot of those Super Nintendo ones on there too.
Speaker 3:They ported them.
Speaker 2:The one memory I have with Game Boy Advance was when they started porting over all those old Mario games and they brought Mario World Advanced onto that.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I mean I wasn't so happy with those ports I mean they were all right, I don't.
Speaker 2:Back then I was like, oh, it's the same thing. But I remember being a little kid like, please, I want it. I'll never the biggest lie that I ever would have said. I'll never ask for another game again please.
Speaker 3:My first game when I got my, because I got the like the arctic blue see-through one. I got that one, and the first game I bought for it was street fighter, street fighter, yeah, street fighter 2 turbo. Loved it.
Speaker 1:Play the shit out of that game you're probably like, really popular and probably proud of yourself for having that.
Speaker 3:Like the color, the color yeah, I used to play it in spanish class I just sit in the back, turn the volume down and just play street fighter while I answered questions.
Speaker 2:Oh my god please, please, yeah, no, I love those games, man, and the castlevania ones. From that one I played several times megaman zero mission, megaman fusion. I mean, uh, metroid zero mission and fusion. Those are awesome too. They still are awesome too.
Speaker 3:They still hold up.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they still they still hold up?
Speaker 3:Yes, they do.
Speaker 2:So, but let's get into some of the stuff for this week we Gamescom just finished up or is going on and all that right, so they had the opening night live. So we'll be getting into that a little bit. But the first thing thing I wanted to get into some of the stuff with netflix, some shows, so they had the their whole big leak. Right that this happened with them. I don't know if you guys were aware that this happened, and this is the way that I found out the some anime are even coming to netflix. Uh, so they had this big leak that basically showed off a whole bunch of anime that are coming to Netflix, and they leaked full like first couple episodes of each of the animes. I didn't try to go look at them myself because I was like no, no, no, let me watch it the right way.
Speaker 2:And so Arcane, season 2, which is the League of Legends one, right, and these are animes on Netflix, these are anime on Netflix. So season one is there. It's the League of Legends anime that's on Netflix. It's really good, really really good. And then there was the Terminator Zero was leaked right. They also leaked this other one called Dandadan, which I'm not familiar with. Dandadan No'm not familiar with Dandadan no, no clue, no clue. And there was a leak for an anime being remade, which is Ranma 1.5.
Speaker 3:I know you guys know Ranma Ranma 1.5. I'm excited for that one.
Speaker 2:Did you already know about this one?
Speaker 3:I knew about Ranma 1.5 being remade, but I didn't realize who was remaking it.
Speaker 2:So I about ron ron. Ron have being remade, but I didn't realize who was remaking it, so I don't know who's remaking it, but it's coming to netflix, all right, but I'm excited for that.
Speaker 3:I love the mangas, love reading them yeah, so I?
Speaker 2:I just remember that one being the first one. You know it's a, a guy, you know it's, it's chinese it. Well, it takes place in what seems to be china, right, I think.
Speaker 3:So there's these magical pools, yeah, that if you fall into one then they have different stipulations, like one, the pool of a drowned boar. Like, if you fall into it you turn into a boar.
Speaker 2:Every time you touch water.
Speaker 3:Every time you touch water, and our boy, ranma, decides to fall into the pool of the drowned girl. So now there's a little gender bender fun, you know, throw water on him, him, he turns into a girl and it's just, it's like slapstick, funny it is yeah, it's kind of like what you'd expect from old dragon ball yeah, it's like that old kind of like.
Speaker 2:I feel like that old school, like anime, stupid raunchy humor, you know yeah, and then you know, of course, before we continue with that one, is there was also re-zero season three which I watched, that one re-zero. And then you know, of course, before we continue with that one, there was also ReZero Season 3, which I watched, that one ReZero.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh man, oh, you know that one.
Speaker 3:Oh, yeah, I like Season 1 for that one.
Speaker 2:And then there's Mananoke the movie, which nothing necessarily to do with Princess Mananoke, but, yeah, ranma 1F, super excited for, very hyped for that one because, like I said, it was one of the first anime memories that I have because it was, you know, that whole thing happening where he's like training on the big pillars and he falls in the water and he has everything that goes on, like you said, the slapstick stuff. And of course, it was one of the first animes where I'm like boobies and I can still picture it in my head, like the art style for it back then. It's like a little weird looking, little grainy, it kind of looks like uh, what's that little weird?
Speaker 2:looking boobies what's that?
Speaker 3:anime called with the little kid oh, crayon shin yeah shin shin, whatever shin chan, yeah shin chan yeah, yeah, yeah our style, like that old art style yeah, I mean well, that one's different altogether that one, that one's much worse that one's much worse? Well, it's not that shin chan's way more raunchy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's like super perverted, I'm surprised because it's just like some little kid, but it's so perverted right, yeah, jesus, he's always like flashing, everybody, everybody yeah, and he's his little titty, his little pee-pee's over there, the little thing he shows his butt and he just goes streaking.
Speaker 3:It's hilarious.
Speaker 2:There's a game that recently came out of that. They have it on Switch and other stuff too, and it looks like you're playing the anime. Of course it's like something Crayon, shin and Doctor, something, I forget what it is, but yeah, you're like in the town, you're playing the game, and I mean playing the anime pretty much. And from what?
Speaker 3:I hear it's actually really good. Oh, what's surprising, crayonshin.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of good things from a lot of good things allegedly it might have been one of those games that, uh, people try to put onto their um emulation devices or their hacked stretches, but may have had difficulty finding an English version. Yeah, but so another thing I wanted to show you guys is Tomb Raider. We already talked about that a couple times actually. So the anime that's coming out for Netflix and this one is coming out to Netflix. It's going to be a series and it's an anime, and it looks like in the same art style of Castlevania.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it looks like Castlevania, it looks exactly like Castlevania.
Speaker 2:It feels like I'm watching Castlevania right now. Which I love it, the anime that Netflix makes, the American style animes that they make that. You know it looks like anime but it just has like an American style to it or a Western style. Yeah, avatar had it. Yeah, but this is now like more really looking, yeah, more refined Like this one.
Speaker 2:There was, oh man, what was the other one called? It was like Son of God or something like that. Son of Zeus. Son of Zeus, that one's another good one. Castlevania is a good one. They, of course, course, they have the witcher. All of these are really good, and so this is going to be kind of in the same style, takes place of um, kind of, I guess, their newest anime that's coming out in that, in that way, right, or in that style, coming out october 10 on netflix, and now this anime, as we know, based on laura croft. But it's actually taking place after the remakes of the three games that came out the surviving, or what was it? Uh, rise of the Tomb Raider, I think was the last one so this is a continuation of that trilogy this is a continuation of the most recent remake of Tomb Raiders that we have.
Speaker 2:so that's that, that Lara Croft. This is that Lara Croft. Different voice actor, though it's not the same one, which I feel like is a missed opportunity.
Speaker 3:But most of us For the actress, right, the lot of money.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah for the actress and just for the continuity. Yeah, it's true too, but I mean it's still like eh, I wouldn give it a chance, especially if it's one of theirs and I haven't necessarily been too disappointed by their anime that they have their Western style ones that they really get behind. I'm really psyched up for this one. I'm hoping, I don't know, I hope it's good, I hope it doesn't fail, because Tomb Raider needs a little bit of love.
Speaker 3:I'm still waiting for that Devil May Cry remake. Yeah, are they going to do that?
Speaker 2:They're supposed to, because they made a Devil May Cry anime before and it was okay. It was fine, it was okay. They focused a lot on the music, the heavy metal, it was very musical.
Speaker 3:The anime was great. There was always a theme song to the episode, yeah. And then you have these side characters, that kind of like. I feel like they kind of distract Dante too much, you know.
Speaker 1:But in the game it was really quiet, it was just quiet. Well, it was only Dante.
Speaker 3:And maybe Trish and Lady, depending on what game you're playing.
Speaker 1:The very first one, most likely. Oh, the very first one is just him, yeah that's it.
Speaker 3:And then you know, trish just stayed there after the game. But yeah, then you have this little girl and a butler running around.
Speaker 1:That's one game that I really need to play again. I'll probably do it. I'll probably do it. Don't want to cry for no, just the whole thing from one to four, uh you can skip two yeah, you can skip two you can skip.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's what I thought, but technically it's like the end of the timeline, deca if you want to follow it chronologically, play three, then play one, then go to four. Yeah, is there a five? There's not a five. Yeah, there is a five. That's the one where they had uh, what's his name?
Speaker 3:Nero Was it Nero again.
Speaker 2:His introduction is in 4 yeah. And then 5 had Nero again 5 had Nero Dante yeah, all of them. And Nico Virgil 5 was awesome. I beat this.
Speaker 3:I beat the shit out of that game Me too, I got it for the PC and then, as soon as Virgil landed, and I even bought the special edition on the PS5, just for the other shit that you can get on there.
Speaker 2:See, I didn't do all of that. I beat the shit out of the standard game.
Speaker 3:I got all the blue orbs, I got maxed everything. The only thing I didn't get to do was get all of the secret rooms.
Speaker 2:I remember when you were playing that game, you were doing that whole tower, uh, tower that they have right that you can basically palace, yeah, that you were doing that and I would watch you every now and then on stream just going through all that doing all the comboing man definitely cry. They don't really make them like that man because bayonet is cool, but it's no devil may cry yeah, it's, it's a different you.
Speaker 3:It's crazy, because if you look at like Devil May Cry combo videos. They're insane, especially with Dante. Yeah, dante has the most tools out of everybody, like Virgil has his gun and has his sword.
Speaker 2:Virgil has a gun.
Speaker 3:I mean, Nero has his gun and has his sword and he can rev it. So the more you rev it, then you can just do extra moves. Virgil, my man, I like him. He's got the Amado, he's got the Force Edge and he's got the Beowulf, which is like his hands pretty much, which is basically what Dante had in 4?.
Speaker 2:Did he have that in 4? He had the Beowulf Gauntlet and all that stuff. Though he had it in was it five.
Speaker 1:I know he had him before I think he had maybe the cerberus ones no, cerberus was like his flailed nunchucks.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think I know he has them in five, but he has something else it's something different.
Speaker 2:It's not something different. It's not beowulf virgil specifically has beowulf yeah because I feel I know I didn't play with virgil on on devil may cry 5 because I didn't buy the exercise. I was like I don't need to do that right now, it's fine. Remember the storm that?
Speaker 3:brings the light.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry.
Speaker 3:What's his theme song? What is it? No, I don't want to do it. Why not? We can get it recorded right now no it's okay. It's not drink enough for karaoke, which we can actually use this for karaoke I fucking love karaoke.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, I gotta get a speaker that has bluetooth and it has mic input, because I could just put the. I think I told you this already.
Speaker 3:It has a source?
Speaker 2:out that I could put it on the source in for the uh speaker and then just bluetooth it to the tv to get the music going. Oh, that'd be the ill setup.
Speaker 3:but Let me ask you, Francis, specifically In the Philippines, isn't karaoke a big thing?
Speaker 1:It is big, it's very big.
Speaker 3:Like that and cafes, right, internet cafes yeah, cafes, coffee.
Speaker 1:Starbucks, oh cafes, internet cafes, internet cafes.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:Because that's where you actually play multiplayer games.
Speaker 2:League of Legends Dota. That's where you actually play your games, like play like uh, multiplayer games like uh uh league of legends dota.
Speaker 1:Yeah, there you go, league of legends dota and probably counter-strike, like you see people yelling at each other in computer, oh yeah you see those fights that they have on youtube. I do see those kids come out of nowhere just smacking with the keyboard and stuff yeah, yeah, but if you're about All this trash talking, oh man, it's so, but it's really popular there. Coffee.
Speaker 2:The go to karaoke equipment that they have in Philippines Is Magic Sing, magic Sing, yeah, oddly enough Cheaper here Than it is over there, because I was going to have Charlene buy one so we could have Like a nice karaoke thing yeah.
Speaker 1:It's.
Speaker 2:After the conversion like 700 really, and it's a whole system it's so you get the two mics and it has a little box that you connect to the tv and it has the whole, you know the, the. The mics have the number pad and all this stuff to select the song and all that, right, oh, it's like that okay, it's like that, yeah, so that there are other ones that have a whole big thing that you can have a little controller console thing with, but that does the same thing.
Speaker 2:That's all you kind of need, right. Um, over here, that same one that costs like 700, over there is like 399. Yeah, way different in price same. Thing same exact model.
Speaker 1:Yes, oh shit. Yes, the thing is, if you have a laptop, we can basically do it yeah, now it's youtube playback.
Speaker 3:All you need is youtube, that's it all I need now, like I said, instrumental with the words in the background and boom yeah you put, you go on youtube, you start a good mic whatever song karaoke and that's it that's it.
Speaker 2:You're not gonna have anything grade you at the end and tell you you got like an 87 or 90 or whatever. But who cares who?
Speaker 3:cares. Oh no, that's weird. I don't wanna be graded.
Speaker 2:Oh, no, no, no, no, you've never had that. No, yo Filipinos are all about that, nah.
Speaker 3:They wait for it. I can't do that. Once the song is done, everybody shuts up. They looking at the screen.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 3:90, they're like whoo 90. That actually be too much pressure.
Speaker 1:Sometimes someone gets 100, but they didn't actually see it.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, that's how you know you got to fuck that karaoke machine.
Speaker 3:They get 100, they're like no, that wasn't there's not quiet like that.
Speaker 2:They're like no, no.
Speaker 3:I'm not getting anything. Oh, they really did that's bullshit.
Speaker 1:Get that shit out of here, and it's so awkward after it's so awkward after you say that I'm like oh, you suck.
Speaker 2:Now get out of here with that. Yeah, Now, like over here, the song is finished and you get the phone out. Okay, what song am I going to play now? Let's see.
Speaker 3:All right, this is good. They brutally judge you, oh.
Speaker 2:they brutally judge you, oh yeah yeah, dude, I remember when I was first going out with my wife and like really learning about the culture, that was one of the first things I realized damn, y'all really love karaoke, right? And then she told me, yeah, and we started getting more into it and I started saying more things. Yo parents over there like teach their kids how to sing. You're not hitting the right notes, bro. What is your bravado?
Speaker 1:right, yeah, right right. Am I wrong? Yeah?
Speaker 2:right. Yeah, bro, they're hard up, just the same way that they're strict with their education. Education, bro. Singing you better, you better know how to sing if you're a filipino? Yeah, dude, every celebrity that is over there sings. Yes, and they'll sing live. And even if they're not good at singing, they make them sing, yeah.
Speaker 1:They make them sing, they practice them.
Speaker 2:They have albums.
Speaker 3:They train them.
Speaker 2:Everybody, for the most part, yeah, a lot of them, all the big ones do yeah, yeah. I can't think of any celebrity in Philippines that I've seen that doesn't have a song.
Speaker 1:At least Well, part of our culture, too, is like when you drink, like, let's say, we have a tequila in front of us, right, we only have one shot glass and we actually just like after my turn, it's going to be your turn. It goes around.
Speaker 3:Oh, so we're all sharing that same glass.
Speaker 1:We're all sharing that same glass. Love it, yeah. Shot glass. And then the chaser glass. You know a chaser right, oh, and the chaser glass. You know a chaser right, oh, in the chaser? Yeah, so you have.
Speaker 3:Let's say, you have a gin, right, gin you have like another juice, At least with the alcohol. I think it'll just kill some of it off.
Speaker 2:I'll skip on the chaser. How do we?
Speaker 1:get from the karaoke, to we share glasses when we drink, because when you're drinking, when you're doing karaoke there. Yeah, yeah yeah, or unless you get a bucket of beer. A bucket of beer is like six piece.
Speaker 2:A six piece. Like you're ordering chicken at KFC Let me get that six piece Bud Light.
Speaker 1:No, no, over there they have Red Horse and Sun Lake or San Miguel Pilsen.
Speaker 2:They have their own beer.
Speaker 1:yeah, it's good man, you guys should visit, and then we can just drink beside a beach or something. That's awesome.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you know, I kind of always wanted to go to the Philippines. That's nice. You should Find your wife or something.
Speaker 1:Find your wife, all you got to do is say the word Guys, buy a cow bro. All you got to do is speak English there, Like really good, Not even.
Speaker 3:All you have you I'll find somebody for you all the time.
Speaker 2:How many times do we hear our brother-in-law? You know, I should hook up this person with that person, especially when we were younger, yeah, and their friends were younger too. Yeah, oh, I gotta find somebody for this person. I gotta find somebody for that person. They tried hooking up my brother with a girl here and there and you know he was like I don't really want to, he doesn't like filipino. No, no, he tried with one, yeah, and it didn't work out, type of thing. He was like, oh, you know, I'm not so interested in that, like that, yeah. But yeah, bro, you got to do is say the word.
Speaker 1:Just got to say the word. You got your passport.
Speaker 3:Not even I do, though I do, I do.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you should go there. It's really nice there, it's beautiful, it's safe, regardless of what people say, I feel like it's safe there.
Speaker 3:I feel like there's dangers wherever you go. Wherever you go, just a little bit, just don't be stupid. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I've gotten lost over there.
Speaker 1:Just don't go around smacking people the only thing in Filipinos. You just don't look at them or stare at them.
Speaker 2:Oh, really, because I look there Sometimes.
Speaker 3:You don't? Human likes to get gawky.
Speaker 1:No it's kind of that's the stereotype. It's like someone sitting like right there at the side right, and then you look at them.
Speaker 2:That's messed up, yeah yeah, no, not like, yeah, of course, just like that no.
Speaker 3:No man, it's scary.
Speaker 1:And they're going to be like why are? You staring at me.
Speaker 3:I want that one. You're sitting there, you're staring at somebody, just like.
Speaker 2:I'm not gonna lie, though you do.
Speaker 1:But here in America it's a sign of respect when you're talking to someone.
Speaker 2:I mean you. You look at somebody when you're talking to them, but if you stare at people, it's still disrespectful, and pointing at people Is not, of course, yeah don't stare at a gorilla either.
Speaker 3:They'll kill you if you do that.
Speaker 1:Oh no, they're for real legit Pervert they're going to be like why are you staring at me, you pervert?
Speaker 3:What a gorilla. No, they take that shit as a challenge. Oh gorilla Not girls, oh girls, I don't know what that is yeah of course You've seen, everyone's seen it.
Speaker 2:Why are you staring at it?
Speaker 3:I was like I don't know, I'm sorry, man. I don't know, I'm a little cockeyed, I'm sorry. One eye on the sheets, one eye on the streets.
Speaker 2:Yeah, what were we saying? Yeah, lara Croft, I don't even know.
Speaker 3:Wow, what a segue. We're all looking forward to it.
Speaker 2:We're all looking forward to it Lara Croft, but forward to it. We're all looking forward to it. But uh, speaking of netflix, though, let's keep it here. So recently I noticed that amc uh put a whole bunch of their stuff on netflix. They, you know, they've been putting walking dead, fear the walking dead. They added a whole bunch of stuff. There's that new daryl one that's coming out. It's like a spin-off series of just daryl from walking dead. Oh, daryl really daryl yeah, I believe.
Speaker 2:So I don't know if it's out. It probably is, I don't know. But I don't have AMC, I don't have cable, so I don't know. I just see what they have on Netflix.
Speaker 3:I think they just need to like end that series.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that needs to be done. Yeah, that's so long they just need to kill all.
Speaker 3:They're milking the fuck out of this franchise.
Speaker 1:Oh, don't say that I haven't seen since season 6 or 5.
Speaker 2:After season 6 Is probably when they should have just stopped After they hammered out Glenn's face. They should have stopped it there. Who's the?
Speaker 1:guy who killed that.
Speaker 3:Negan, he died, did he die?
Speaker 1:Well, he didn't die. But the thing is when his crew is done, that's.
Speaker 2:He became one of the main characters. Is my understanding. Yeah reluctantly.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think when Rick left the first time.
Speaker 2:Rick left. See. Mind you, I don't know what happens. All I know is that Negan becomes a good character. Carl dies, carl Bender, don't say anything, carl dies Carl died, don't say anything I don't know.
Speaker 1:Oh shit, this is all I know.
Speaker 3:This is like Fucking 10 years old now.
Speaker 2:I know.
Speaker 1:And then, yeah, I'm sorry. Carl and for some reason Carl died.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it was like 7 years ago now, I think.
Speaker 1:I know that Carl died, but Carol, oh Carol, no, I think she's still around. Sure, okay, there you go, la Vieja.
Speaker 2:Yeah, la Vieja, bro, the old lady, the old lady she was like a beloved character, that one bro, because she became hard. She was that old housewife that got beat up on by her husband in the beginning. Then she comes back and I think she kills him herself and then she just becomes hard. She's like a biker chick now and all this stuff.
Speaker 3:Yeah, the fucking Pandemium changes, you bro.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and then the other thing is, for some reason, daryl ends up in Paris. Really, I don't know if that's true. I just remember people Talking about, like a sneak peek scene, you know type of thing, where Eiffel Tower Was behind him. How the fuck did he get to Paris? I don't know, that might be. I think that's what the spinoff series for the Daryl thing is, maybe. Mind you, I don't look at it because I don't care.
Speaker 1:So it's part of the Walking Dead. Let's say the Walking Dead is happening and all of a sudden there's going to be like a show for. Daryl.
Speaker 3:I think the Walking Dead is done. It should be. Yeah, it's not done. I think it should be.
Speaker 2:I think it should be, I think it should. I think that was the ending sneak peek thing was what they showed with daryl, from what I think daryl, I think, and then they're just taking the characters from like yeah, so walking the daryl, yeah and then they have fear the walking dead, which is was the original spin-off one so was it prequel it was supposed it was a prequel yeah, but then they continued. Now it's just regular walking dead walking dead.
Speaker 3:Different timeline.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Basically and that shit like Old Yeller bro.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but anyways, they added all this stuff From AMC, so you have a lot of that On Netflix. They have added. You guys remember this movie Interview with a vampire? Yes, this old one. It had Brad Pitt and apparently Tom Cruise was in it, which I don't remember.
Speaker 3:Yes, he's Lassat.
Speaker 2:He was Lassat. Yes, really, the psychopath vampire. And Brad Pitt was Louis de Pendulat, louis de Pendulat.
Speaker 3:Louis de Pendulat. Yeah, he was the calm one and it'd be weird to think that the roles were reversed. But like, roles reversed, right that the roles were reversed, uh-huh, you reversed. You figure like Brad Pitt would be the crazy one. But nah, why would you figure that?
Speaker 2:No, I don't know, just because looking at the actors, yeah, you mean looking at the actors but like you forget. I mean you forget that Tom Cruise was jumping on that couch one time talking about I love her, I love her.
Speaker 3:Nah, nah, nah, nah. Remember Les Grossman? No, okay, you guys ever watch Tropic Thunder? Yeah, okay, les Grossman. The guy at the end, the hairy Italian-looking guy oh yeah, that's Tom Cruise.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's Tom Cruise.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I know Beautiful work. Yeah, he didn't.
Speaker 2:Didn't he get nominated for an Oscar for that, I think I hope he did. No, no, no. What was his name? Iron man Robert.
Speaker 3:Downey Jr. Robert Downey Jr With his blackface role that was a joke in the movie he's a piece of like a method actor.
Speaker 2:That movie was so good. I'm a dude playing a dude. This guy is another dude, that dude, yeah, but yeah. So they have this series of Interview with a Vampire I've watched it a few. You watched it yeah.
Speaker 1:I've never seen it.
Speaker 3:So good, it's some gray worm.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it is gray worm His name is Jacob Anderson which.
Speaker 3:He's a singer too. He is, he's like a rapper. No, not a rapper, he's a singer, singer.
Speaker 2:Riley Ritchie Is his name, that he goes by for His music, and his music is good.
Speaker 3:His music is good. It's not my thing, but it's good for them.
Speaker 2:This one song. He got Time in a Tree, I it's a good song that's good for you.
Speaker 3:I like R&B music.
Speaker 1:I didn't mean to like that. I'm just saying You're going to sing it in karaoke, yeah.
Speaker 2:He has a deep voice when he sings too, though.
Speaker 3:Yeah, he's got good range. He really does Really good range. I do like the show I watched the first season.
Speaker 2:Oh, you watched the first season yourself. Yeah, that's all I saw so far, and I was like the season two is done for Interview with a Vampire. So, first off, you've never seen the movie before, right. No not yet, so the movie's like from 90s or 80s.
Speaker 1:Yeah 90s, okay 90s.
Speaker 2:So it's an old movie. Basically, there's a reporter who meets a vampire and he interviews him and the whole movie is him interviewing that vampire and going over the life story of the vampire, and all that right Of Louis, yeah, louis the Pondulac.
Speaker 3:Yeah, he's talking to Louis the reporter and Louis is giving his recollection of him becoming and living his life as a vampire. So you see, when you're watching the movie, you're watching what Louis is saying to the interviewer.
Speaker 2:Like his story, yeah, as he remembers it, yeah, and, and so then the series takes place where he's meeting that reporter. Again, he asks to meet him and they kind of go into a whole thing of you know, are you going to something like, are you going to attack me, or something? This time you, you attack me last time.
Speaker 2:I want you to retell my story pretty much yeah, but the, the report, you know the, the, the first time they met he attacked the reporter. Oh right, but he survived and and basically he reached out to him again, tell my story again. And that's him telling the story of louis de pondoulak again again yeah, so he's go like from the beginning before he became a vampire, and he's showing you how it's so good it's. Basically. It's not really a lot of action, very small amount of action.
Speaker 2:It's drama heavy. It's drama heavy, a lot of talking, a lot of like scenes Some boobs you will see some boobs, some boobies, nice boobs. Some boobies.
Speaker 1:I feel like boobs nowadays are just normal. Yeah, it's normal.
Speaker 2:I feel, like boobs nowadays are just normal yeah it's normal, but these are tasteful boobs.
Speaker 3:It is tasteful, it is.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's nothing crazy, you know it goes into a lot of like his romance with Lestat too, because he's gay. You know he's gay, so it goes into the romance with Lestat.
Speaker 3:I think bisexual at this point.
Speaker 2:Well, he specifically says that he was unsure but then he came out and embraced it, and all that Because, of course, back in, what was it? Early 1900s? Yeah, no, nothing, you know, they weren't taking that, no, you just stomped out. Yeah, so it's just drama heavy, a lot of dialogue, and for some reason I finished it in a couple of days.
Speaker 1:Really how many seasons?
Speaker 2:Only the first season. I saw Season two is out, but it's not on Netflix. It's done. It's on AMC Plus and Max. You can watch it there. There's other ways to watch it too. Oh, it's on Max.
Speaker 3:Yeah, Do you have Max? Yeah, no, I bootleg the first season.
Speaker 1:Max. Talking about Max, Do you?
Speaker 3:Yeah, I, you should share that too.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, you should share that ain't mine though that ain't
Speaker 2:mine, that's right, that's right. Whatever I get from anybody else Like the Hulu I have Is from somebody else Actually you but so I don't give that to anyone. I'm like, yeah, I got Hulu, oh, really, yeah from my friend, oh yeah.
Speaker 3:I love Hulu. I love Hulu.
Speaker 1:Hulu's good they have a lot of websites, good websites.
Speaker 2:Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, same thing, I got websites too. There's ways, there's ways, yeah, but if you're looking For a really good Drama heavy show, oh man, so good. I could not start Watching this. The only thing I don't like Is the Claudia, the one who played Claudia. I really liked her. Oh, the girl, and there's a different girl For season two, yeah, yeah, which I saw the first episode, and after, after it was done with the first episode, I was like, okay, I can get used to this.
Speaker 1:I guess you know talking about max. Have you guys seen uh house of the dragon?
Speaker 2:no, I saw two episodes, I think, with my wife yeah, but did you guys watch game of thrones?
Speaker 1:yeah, you don't need to watch game of thrones though because it's pretty cool.
Speaker 2:You don't. It's pretty cool. You don't need to know any of the knowledge season two is done.
Speaker 1:Season two or three, two, two yeah, it's done. Oh man, it was. It's crazy. Like I just watch, I was just you know when the season starts and you're trying to hold yourself so that at least you don't go episode by episode every Sunday, so you just like hold on to it for like two to three months so that at least one whole season you watch it.
Speaker 2:You want to binge it. Yeah, you want to binge it. You want to binge it man it was crazy. So Game of Thrones was one of those ones that we watched week to week, and then we started that one. What is it?
Speaker 1:The House of Dragons targaryens?
Speaker 2:yeah, it's the targaryens and I was like I kind of went into it like it's gonna be fine. First episode was okay. Second episode we were like, okay, this is good, we might have watched the third one, I don't remember. I don't have max anymore, so it's getting better.
Speaker 1:I have to find different ways. Now it's getting better and better, that's all I find different ways.
Speaker 3:now it's getting better and better. That's all I can say. I decided I was like everybody's asking me. Now I was like I don't think I'll, it doesn't interest me anymore.
Speaker 1:It's good which one House of Dragons, house of Dragons.
Speaker 3:After that honestly, I'm one of those people that after that last season in Game of Thrones, like it was. You know, I rather it just I gave it up.
Speaker 1:After that I was like I can't do it Because, like yeah, you're expecting good ending, but it wasn't a good ending at all. No, it was rushed.
Speaker 3:It was they were trying to like, I feel like if they would have spread out the final, like that whole raid on King's Landing in like two or three episodes, played up the characters a little bit, because you have clegane and you have, you know, the mountain. Yes, you have that whole sandor and clegane. Yeah, yeah, you, I wanted to see like that final fight. You don't see that, you don't see that, yeah, you know you don't see that the way jamie and cersei died. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:Fucking stupid.
Speaker 3:They died under the rubble Hell. No.
Speaker 2:Is that what happened to them? I forgot.
Speaker 3:The dragon knocked over a bridge and the rocks hit them in their head, and that's it. That's how they died.
Speaker 1:It's so dumb.
Speaker 3:It was rushed. It was rushed If they would have just spread that season and wrote in a little bit more of the characters and just spread them out in like two more, three more episodes.
Speaker 2:Well, that's the thing. He was basically working with them on the show, while he was Deacon working on the book, which he still hasn't finished.
Speaker 3:I think those two directors just wanted to be out of it.
Speaker 2:Probably. I mean they can't wait. What do they? They can't the season's underway, they can't wait.
Speaker 3:Yeah, no, but like to still end it the way they did, but like to spread it out more.
Speaker 2:Oh you think so? I don't know, yeah, no, it's just not good.
Speaker 3:It's not good.
Speaker 2:But from what I hear, house of Dragons is kind of like more towards the peak Game of Thrones nail gripping.
Speaker 3:I hear the writing is a little better.
Speaker 1:Season two. Just try to watch season two.
Speaker 2:Just watch season one. Why would you skip?
Speaker 1:No, season two. Just try to watch season two, because Just watch season one. Why would you skip? No, he watched season one, right? No, you didn't watch season one. No.
Speaker 3:I'm refusing to watch it. I'm boycotting it.
Speaker 1:Well, try it.
Speaker 2:That's fine.
Speaker 1:It's a whole different scenario If you're going to boycott there.
Speaker 2:let me give you another show Then that's really good. It's on Netflix also Warrior, I think.
Speaker 3:I might have Told you guys about it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's called Warrior, it's um. It takes place during the time period In San Francisco when they were bringing Over the Chinese To work on the railroads.
Speaker 1:Oh, I've seen this, I've seen this, I've seen this.
Speaker 2:So this world Is a world that Bruce Lee created To take place During that time period, and it's a guy that comes over from China looking for his sister and so he fights like Bruce Lee and all that kind of stuff, gangs, the action, the fighting choreography in this amazing the story is actually really good.
Speaker 3:That sounds interesting.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you get to see some boobies and all that kind of stuff in there.
Speaker 3:Nice.
Speaker 2:Because there's the tongs that they call the gangs. There's three of them. Then they have like whorehouses and all that stuff.
Speaker 3:It sounds like Double Dragon, but in the show it's not the girlfriend, but it's the sister.
Speaker 2:I mean he's looking for a sister who came over and some stuff. But yeah, it's really good, really good. I love that show so much, so good. The action is really Actually like Some of the best action choreography that has been had. I'd put it up there with John Wick.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I would put it up there with John Wick. Yeah, yeah, I would put it up there with John.
Speaker 2:Wick, it's that good.
Speaker 3:It's good oh some boombox shit Okay.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, but you know, it's martial arts choreography. Of course, no gun, no gun fool in there, but it's so good.
Speaker 3:No gun kata.
Speaker 2:No, gun, kata, no, nothing, no, let's take this out of this Netflix stuff here for a quick second, boys, I would like to go over some of the stuff that they had shown over at the D23, which is the Disney thing and it's minor stuff, mind you, because I know we're not necessarily the demographic for a lot of stuff, even though I tend to like it. So the newest live action thing that they have coming out for this Mufasa, mufasa. So if we've ever mentioned it before, I don't like the live action lion king movie. No, I hated it. They looked dead inside. You looked like you were looking at a black glass ball in the eyes. If you notice, here they actually give them a little bit more expression in their faces, which is welcome enough. I feel like it's Lion King. Yeah, it's Mufasa, good call.
Speaker 1:Good call.
Speaker 3:We're paying attention here.
Speaker 1:I like that.
Speaker 3:Attention to detail. I like this. Wait, who's Mufasa again?
Speaker 2:Mufasa is Simba's dad. Yeah, oh my. God so you're right, it's like the Lion King. Wait, who's Mufasa again, mufasa is Simba's father.
Speaker 3:Oh my god so you're right, it's like the Lion King.
Speaker 2:It's the Lion King, so it's the prequel to the Lion King, essentially.
Speaker 3:So this is Mufasa's story.
Speaker 2:This is Mufasa's story and it actually looks like it might be okay.
Speaker 1:Just like the Lion King. Just like the Lion King that they released, like that yeah, but that one remember, it looked terrible.
Speaker 2:No, it looked. No, the animals looked good. Their facial expressions they didn't have any, okay. So they were singing, they were doing all these things that had quote, unquote facial expressions nothing, nothing. He's just like dead inside. I hated it because of that this. You actually see a lot of facial expressions on him, so I'm a little bit more behind that. I'm okay with that. It looks good, all right, so I'll give this one a chance. I think this is coming out to theaters too. I'm not too sure, um, you know, of course, when they're going to release it on Disney plus, because, let's face it, everything that they release in theaters is going to come to Disney Plus eventually yeah.
Speaker 2:So this one's coming out in Christmas is what they say. Yeah.
Speaker 3:By springtime it'll be on Disney Plus. It's one of those Christmas movies, yeah, probably.
Speaker 2:I mean, it reminds me Hot chocolate. Yeah, I mean, remember what's it called? Um, what's it called? Uh, the first Lion King live action one. It's broke records made buku bucks, right, yeah, so that's probably why they're making this one and put a little bit more effort into the facial expression so they can actually sell something. Yeah, it's good man. Did you guys see any of the other stuff from D23?
Speaker 3:Um, I paid attention a little bit. I looked at the uh, at the Toy Story 5 one.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so there is a Toy Story 5.
Speaker 3:Yeah, now it's been actually confirmed.
Speaker 2:But they didn't really show anything on that one.
Speaker 3:No, but they kind of told you the story, the story.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, I actually didn't see that. What is the story for that?
Speaker 3:It's like now the gang has to deal with tablet kids. What is it? Ipad kids, the gang oh. The gang yeah Like you know, like Woody Bo, peep Slink Buzz.
Speaker 2:You know the gang, so now it's the kids. We don't want to play with you.
Speaker 3:Yeah. So now the kids they're dealing with the kids doing being iPad kids. Now they don't play with them anymore. Yeah, they don't like they got a fucking iPad. I'm like, holy shit, I'm invested already. This is great. If this is the story I'm in. And then, like buzzes, you have a whole bunch of defective buzzes that are gonna be like the antagonists. I think. Yeah, it's pretty from what I've heard, like hearing about Toy Story makes me remember Kingdom Hearts.
Speaker 2:Kingdom Hearts. Yeah, number three, of course. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I played all of them that Toy Story world in Kingdom Hearts was the best one. Yeah, because not only did you actually get to run around the Toy Story world and the town and outside, yeah, but they had the whole Toy Story the Toy Story.
Speaker 3:But what was the?
Speaker 2:video game that they had in that one. Oh, um, basically.
Speaker 3:Final Fantasy had in that one.
Speaker 2:Oh um, basically final fantasy, yeah, yeah, animrex, something like something like that, but it's basically the final fantasy versus 13.
Speaker 3:Yeah it is.
Speaker 2:No, it is if you go back and look at it. It really, it really is. Uh, I keep going.
Speaker 3:It's supposed to be two games. That game, that final fantasy, yeah it was.
Speaker 2:Initially it was going to be the one with versus 13, that has noctis and 13 with Lightning, which I don't know what they were planning to do there, but very different games now.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it was totally different. And now we went for, like, stand by Me for Noctis, oh yeah, for the Noctis one.
Speaker 2:And in the beginning of the first trailers. Do you remember the Final Fantasy Versus 13? That one was so dark and gritty and they're like. They're shooting.
Speaker 3:It was sick. Yeah, he was like Manifesting weapons In the air, you know, yep.
Speaker 2:And then it turned into what Final Fantasy 15 Ended up being, which wasn't bad. It was like a Bro's day out, bro trip yeah.
Speaker 3:Bro trip yeah.
Speaker 1:Our rich friends.
Speaker 3:We got. You know, look our rich friends, we got you know, look our rich friend over.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that one although they, they which, mind you, the um, the royal edition is what they call it right is on playstation plus, which has all the extra stuff. The story, the side story except for ardwin, I think, does it not?
Speaker 3:have his story. I don't think ardwin is in that, but but you.
Speaker 2:You get all the extra DLC that actually finishes the story, right, Because they rushed the hell out of that game they did so that's on there. But Toy Story that world has the game that's in there the Final Fantasy. Kingdom. Hearts game yeah, which for Kingdom Hearts 4, it looks like he goes into that world because he has different feet and everything Like more animation.
Speaker 3:He was more human yeah, less cartoony, more real kid person yeah, because instead of him being cartoony, yes, so now he's more proportioned to be like a normal human. It looks like.
Speaker 2:Less Disney goofy, more anime. And the moon is regular. What Irregular?
Speaker 3:The moon. The moon is a regular moon.
Speaker 1:It's not a heart. It's not a heart. That's what you're saying. The question there is there are so many Kingdom Hearts games and they're all connected. Weirdly connected the story it's so hard to understand unless you played the other game.
Speaker 3:Unless you played the mobile game, you will never know what happened during the Keyblade War.
Speaker 2:Oh, the Birth by Sleep, is that?
Speaker 1:the one Birth by Sleep, the one where you can play as the three of them.
Speaker 3:No, Chains of Memories. Is the, the DS one, no, no, no, the Game Boy Advance one.
Speaker 2:That 3, 6, 3, 3, 25, slash 1?
Speaker 3:No, so there was a mobile. Is it the card game? Yeah, the card game. Was it the card game? The card?
Speaker 2:game is Chain of Memories of memories.
Speaker 3:Okay, is that that's the one you're talking about? No, there's a mobile game like a oh, like phone game that's discontinued I forget what they call it, but like that has like all the. It just tells it fills you in on everything you need to know pretty much.
Speaker 2:I never played that one because it doesn't exist anymore, I know I even back then, I don't even remember hearing about that one.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think it was japan only or something, or maybe they bought it to the States for a little bit. It's crazy.
Speaker 2:The lore on that fucking game is just nuts, which I was expecting they would have shown something with Kingdom Hearts about D23, but I guess, sure it's not the right place. It's not the right place. You gotta show that off at a. It's a Gamescom kind of thing.
Speaker 3:Game. Awards. Coming what when September Game Awards Coming. What when September October.
Speaker 2:November, december. Square Square's not gonna let Disney take Bro. Disney owns Sora, yeah, but they don't own the game like that. I know they don't own the game, but they own all the characters and everything else in there.
Speaker 3:Notice there was a lot less Some Disney characters In this game.
Speaker 2:I feel like they're trying to Kick Disney out, right? Yeah, maybe a little bit we're giving you too much money for this.
Speaker 3:I think we do need a little bit more Final Fantasy characters, I know 3 didn't have any.
Speaker 2:They had that DLC that added in some which I started playing, and then it's like, nah, it's okay, not enough. Final.
Speaker 3:Fantasy characters. The first one had a lot. The second one that's when you started noticing A little, started taking them away.
Speaker 2:It's like what's going?
Speaker 3:on here Traveler's town or Traveler's town. Or Hollow Bastion. That's where everybody was. They're gone now.
Speaker 2:Yep, everybody's just gone. Cloud is gone, aerith is gone, yuffie's gone, which I think she was still Aerith in the first time. She might have been, maybe, maybe.
Speaker 3:Yuffie's Yuffie Aerith is Aerith and Leon is Lion.
Speaker 2:Leon was there. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:They gone? Yeah, it's because, like Every major Kingdom Hearts, they're like there's a different story.
Speaker 2:Oh, leon was Squall. You mean right, there's a different story behind it.
Speaker 3:We called Leon in the game.
Speaker 1:There's like a different story. Oh, why is he here? Like I don't understand, why did it start here? You know, yeah, you really have to play other games For you to actually understand what's happening I think birth by sleep had the best story, though yeah, you're playing as a aqua. Uh, ventus and terra I don't understand the game, that game. I don't understand birth by sleep.
Speaker 2:Yeah, bro, they were like the original keyblade, not even the original, but they were one of, like the ancient keyblade masters, type of thing yeah, they were keyblade masters and the three of them were. So you're each one that you're doing, you're going through the story, basically yeah, and you end up fighting. The ball had a dude. I forgot his name at the end.
Speaker 3:Yeah, one of the xehanorts or whatever it is one of him, they're all the same guy pretty much.
Speaker 2:but yeah, you end up fighting him and I think aqua gets thrown into that darkness and she gets lost.
Speaker 1:That's where she gets saved.
Speaker 2:For years.
Speaker 1:And then there's another game that's her just alone.
Speaker 2:No, it's not her. Just alone In three you save her.
Speaker 3:Yeah, but there's a game on In the last version of the Kingdom Hearts collection it has a section where you play as oh, like a DLC type of thing.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it has a section where you play as Aqua in that moment when she gets absorbed in the darkness, and three, you save for Mickey's like I finally got you. And she's like bitch, where the fuck were you? It's been a thousand years, motherfucker. Where the fuck have you been? My heart heavy, what were you in? And Mick is like oh, I'm so sorry. Oh, Like, oh, I'm sorry, Like she was pissed. Fighting her was kind of fun, though, Like you get it, you fight her a little bit.
Speaker 1:But ever since Nobodies and Heartless I mean Heartless always fight them.
Speaker 3:But when Nobodies came out I was going to say we didn't even talk about the.
Speaker 2:Nobodies came out and I was gonna say we didn't even talk about the Nobodies yet it was so simple and clean.
Speaker 3:In number one it was, it was, it was just Simple, simple.
Speaker 2:The Nobodies and Roxas Was in two right, roxas.
Speaker 3:Roxas is Zora's.
Speaker 2:Zora's Nobody.
Speaker 1:You start off as and Naminé is Naminé, is Kiri's Kiri's Kyrie, kyrie.
Speaker 3:Kyrie, Kyrie's nobody but Riku who's nobody? No, Riku, no.
Speaker 1:Riku's.
Speaker 2:Riku, he doesn't.
Speaker 3:Yeah, Riku's just dark. He's just got a strong heart. That boy, Technically it's him, and what's his name? Anthem. Anthem yeah, yeah, yeah he learns how to control Anthem's power thing, and then you got organization 13 and those crazy fucks.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's what the whole remind dlc is, yeah, and then they have which I was playing and what's? What's? The guy with the spiky hair and he has like those actual, actual, yeah so he becomes like a keyblade master also, or something but he was one, he just didn't know.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah, they don't remember.
Speaker 2:Fucking crazy the whole once they introduce organization 30. I'm what the hell is going on.
Speaker 1:What happened?
Speaker 2:I beat the game, I watched the story, I played the DLC.
Speaker 3:So Organization 13 is like a key piece to getting the Master Keyblade, which they're still looking for, which they're still kind of looking for. But you need 13 people with dark, dark hearts versus, like the gang, was it like seven people with hearts? It's fucking crazy. It's like they're the sacrifices or something. And you need them to fight in order for them to open the gateway to the Maastricht fucking key. It's just.
Speaker 2:Yeah, see, it's confusing it is. I'm not saying it's not. Nobody out there will tell you that it's not confusing.
Speaker 3:The only thing I can tell you is look at a YouTube video and just hope you get a good one. Dude even if I look at, the YouTube video. It's like what happened again yeah, it does happen, it does happen.
Speaker 2:Kingdom Hearts is more confusing than Elden Ring, and any souls like that Hold on a second, I would argue that because I believe that Elden Ring gives it to you exactly how it's supposed to.
Speaker 3:They don't spoon feed it to you, but everything is in the items.
Speaker 2:Well, sure, sure, but it's harder to understand, I guess, is what I'm trying to say. Kingdom Hearts is.
Speaker 3:Yeah, kingdom Hearts is way harder to understand, bro.
Speaker 2:Nobody, it's very complex, I'm not sure the director knows what the damn story really is. There's Nomura man really is. There's Nomura man. What the hell's Nomura doing? He knows, he knows, he gotta know. But, bro, it's like spoilers for the DLC for Remind. But you start that story out by essentially saving the members of Organization XIII which one? And like finishing them up For.
Speaker 2:Remind Kingdom Hearts 3. Remind the DLC. It's like there's that one area at the end of kingdom hearts 3 where you're going through that labyrinth yeah, the maze puzzle, and then you're like, oh, and then you find your boys yeah, you get up together either you save them or you.
Speaker 3:You know, you pick one, yeah, you basically get sent back to that spot.
Speaker 2:It's like you go back in time and you're like what's going on? Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna help everybody and then. Then you save all of the organization 13 members by essentially killing them, but like save their heart in the process. Oh my God, I don't know what's going on. Yeah, so yeah.
Speaker 1:I don't know what's going on. It's just fun to play with ultimate weapon.
Speaker 3:In the original game. You don't go through that because your peoples are handling them. So you went ahead to get to the to fucking xehanort, whatever his name is, and fight him. Now in remind you get transferred back to that moment where, okay, now I can help my peoples with the organization, and that's how that starts.
Speaker 2:It's a boss rush yeah, that dlc is pretty much a boss. It's short, it's short too, and then, and that's it I, which actually I say that, but I still have to finish it.
Speaker 3:I'm like I think I still have to finish it, but the bonus fights Are fucking nuts.
Speaker 1:Alright, can you play PS4 games On PS5?
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:I'll probably do that. I do have the discs, it's Well you have. Even though I play, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be like what happened again, do you?
Speaker 2:have PlayStation Plus, you might still have it.
Speaker 3:You got the one month. It's in there. It's on there, all of it. It's all. Everything's on there, the collection's there, and you can just download it from there.
Speaker 2:Well, I don't know if Remind is there, but yeah, you can just download it from there. I don't think.
Speaker 3:Remind's there but 1's those rumors about the movie for Kingdom Hearts came back.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's a movie that's coming out for Kingdom Hearts, and if you've listened to the past 10 minutes of us trying to piece together what the hell the story is about this, maybe a movie could actually do it. If they bring in the motorcycle, oh, good idea.
Speaker 3:I want it as convoluted as the games Fuck the rest. I want the mass media to understand how we feel when we play this game you want those people leaving. They're like what?
Speaker 2:happened.
Speaker 3:What is going on? Yes, it's exactly how we've been feeling Since the first one Quote unquote first one.
Speaker 2:The first one was really simple.
Speaker 3:But it's not the first game.
Speaker 2:Chronologically, it's not the first game.
Speaker 3:There's stuff that happens before, way before Sorry.
Speaker 2:The stuff with. Didn't the stuff with Naminé Happen before? Cause she's like In the tower and piecing together, I think Like the ice cream.
Speaker 3:Well Birth by Sleep Happens before Birth by Sleep Happens before I think that moment Happens in Tangent when Destiny Islands gets all fucked up the first time. She turns into a Heartless Kyrie.
Speaker 2:When you become a Heartless, you get the nobody, which is why Sora has a nobody, because he becomes a Heartless too when he saves Kyrie.
Speaker 3:Kyrie gets her nobody, and that's when Organization XIII finds her somewhere, because they know that she can summon a Keyblade. So yeah, bro, welcome Welcome.
Speaker 2:Ever since.
Speaker 1:I've been trying to figure them out.
Speaker 2:It's hard. I mean I go into them fully knowing I'm not going to understand everything that's going on, but I'm going to love every moment and the theme song is going to kick ass, yeah the theme song is going to kick ass.
Speaker 3:The battling seems to be fun. I didn't finish the three you didn't finish the three.
Speaker 1:It's like three is easy.
Speaker 3:We were complaining that it wasn't hard enough. On critical mode yeah, we did.
Speaker 2:That's right. You're right, we played critical mode this game is easy as fuck.
Speaker 3:The only hard, the only hard part about it is getting all the synthesizing items let me tell you I regret that now for the dlc because the dlc is actually hard critical.
Speaker 2:I can't switch it down To normal now.
Speaker 3:No, I'm in critical mode too, and it's hard. I can't.
Speaker 2:That's why I didn't finish it, because I keep getting my ass kicked. Yeah, dude, yeah, it's hard, so play it in normal mode.
Speaker 3:You get cornered and then you get stun locked. You're fucked, yeah.
Speaker 2:Oh, it's so bad, and if you don't have the ultimate weapon, I have it anyways, mind you, and I'm still getting rocked, yeah it hurts I forgot about that.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think we're in the same boat.
Speaker 2:I blocked that memory out because I forgot where I am, but I kept getting rocked. I'm like, forget this. I'm done with this game.
Speaker 3:Yeah, he's got one-shotted sometimes at pennies.
Speaker 2:He's like oh, it's bad. It's bad, seriously. So at D23, like you said, they had the Toy Story that showed up Coming out. Summer 2025, summer Can't wait for Summer. Summer 2025 Incredible 3 the Mufasa thing. There's a live action Lilo and Stitch coming, oh, yes, yeah. And then there's a live action Snow White, which that's the most One that.
Speaker 3:You have Enchanted, or what's that one with?
Speaker 2:It's like Cinderella, it's like the Beauty and the Beast. One.
Speaker 3:What's the one that Angelina Jolie did? Oh, maleficent, maleficent, maleficent, oh, maleficent, oh. No, that's right, angelina Jolie.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so those are people. I liked those movies yeah.
Speaker 3:See if they make those stories like even a Tangled or Rapunzel right, yeah. If they redid those, I could see them being like you know, yeah, good, like what is it? Live action, yeah.
Speaker 1:Winnie the Pooh live action. No, no, no, I heard it sucks.
Speaker 2:They already did Christopher Robinson. Yeah, they did, christopher Robinson. Did they show a Winnie the Pooh live action thing? I think so I think it wasn't good. Oh man, I don't want to see that. That's okay. I'm not into Winnie the Pooh. Anyways, I don't care to see it I never liked it in Kingdom Hearts either. I didn't like it.
Speaker 3:It was annoying. It was a poor bother. I didn't want to jump into the book and say it.
Speaker 2:I need my honey please, it's okay, the Heartless can take.
Speaker 3:I'll give you a page of my books For a smackle of honey, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:I guess the biggest thing that they did show off At D23 was the next Avatar, avatar Fire and Ash For shit.
Speaker 1:Did you guys like Avatar? I do.
Speaker 2:You watched the first and second one.
Speaker 1:I didn't even watch, I didn't even play for some reason. And second one I didn't even watch, I didn't even play For some reason. You know what I remember the most? I don't know, is it good?
Speaker 2:By the way, we're talking about Avatar the blue people one, not Avatar the last airbender.
Speaker 1:Ah Okay, the blue people one, of course. It's really good. I like it.
Speaker 3:You like that one too? Yeah, yeah, oh, he got offended. I like one and two.
Speaker 2:Two is okay.
Speaker 1:No, I like, because it's just water, right, like the water thing.
Speaker 2:I like the first one because and now it's gonna be Fire and ash people.
Speaker 3:So now it's gonna be Like in a volcano, yeah, while it's snowing.
Speaker 2:It's like different. It's basically like Zelda they're going through Different worlds. The first one was the tree people, the Kakariko village. Now you went to the Zoroast domain with the water people. Now you're going into the canyon where you're going to find the Gorons and stuff with the fire and ash Right. Death Mountain, yeah, death Mountain, death Mountain, yeah.
Speaker 1:That's what I feel like when I think about it. When is this coming?
Speaker 2:December 19, 2025.
Speaker 1:So next year, next year, right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, well, it's a long time.
Speaker 3:I remember the first one became preloaded with every single Samsung phone that ever existed.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, what is? What is the first Avatar movie?
Speaker 3:Yeah, I remember that that's when Samsung had its.
Speaker 2:They had the OLED screen, the AMOLED.
Speaker 3:The Galaxy series. That's when they first started doing the Galaxy series of phones.
Speaker 2:I think I had it on my Galaxy Note 4, maybe or Galaxy Note, I don't remember. But yeah, think I had it on my galaxy note 4, maybe or galaxy note, I don't remember, but yeah I had it. I remember because it was uh the big phone and they were showing.
Speaker 3:Yeah, they were short and the thing is they want to show off that screen with these like super crisp, crisp movies, because that movie was like, um, like really graphically intense yes, and just like the second one is bro, it's the same thing, even like even the game, like it's just graphically intense. Yes, and just like the second one Is Bro, it's the same thing, even the, even the game like it's just graphically intense.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, which I didn't play, but it I didn't play it.
Speaker 1:For some reason, if there's a movie, I don't play the game. For some reason. I mean, it depends on what it is, but if it's a game, and then it becomes a movie, then If it's a game and then it becomes a movie, then that's a different story.
Speaker 2:Well, that's a different thing, because you play the game. Watching a movie or a show, it requires much less time than playing a game. Playing a game, yeah. Do you really got 30, 40 hours to play a game versus you know Two?
Speaker 3:hours. I mean you do got 30 hours. I mean you sure you do.
Speaker 2:But do you wish, not at once, it's easier to dedicate Two hours as opposed to Forty hours.
Speaker 1:You know what I mean. I can dedicate Forty hours in Diablo 4, so I mean sure, I couldn't even.
Speaker 3:I tried.
Speaker 1:I tried.
Speaker 3:You did Recently, yeah, well, yeah, I guess A few months ago it was recent.
Speaker 1:I tried. I tried to make a sorcerer and I was just sitting there Like meh. Meh.
Speaker 3:This sucks. I got 1 to 100.
Speaker 1:In, I think a day and a half. That's fucking crazy.
Speaker 2:Once you beat the game, it's much faster. Oh cause you get those bonuses? Yeah, you get. You can skip the whole campaign and just get straight to Leveling.
Speaker 3:It's like adventure mode, like the hell the hell mode or whatever.
Speaker 2:Yeah so you're allowed to skip the campaign and just do how time? Yeah, exactly, so it's much faster, but yeah, I like three.
Speaker 3:Like when three came out, I had so much fun on three.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean it is better than three, though I'm not gonna lie after you get through those little things, I guess, if there's new one.
Speaker 1:Now the pit. The pit is like three, like nephilim rifts I don't know yeah they made that and there's infernal. It's just. I don't know, man, I get relaxed when I'm playing that I remember playing with you with that one.
Speaker 3:We used to run dungeons for just the shit. I used to get melted because you were like oh I'm prestige 84, oh, I'm prestige 10, just getting melted.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, I Played it. I did a lot of it. Not as much as Francis, though, but I do play it. It's fun. I'm up to date.
Speaker 1:I have some Uber uniques like all the best in slot kind of All the best gear all the best slots. I just like it. That's why it's when you like a game and you just play and relax.
Speaker 3:Oh, I know, you just play's, just playing, you fucking, and then all of a sudden, oh, I do have everything now, like you know, you just get Surprised.
Speaker 1:Oh, I see.
Speaker 2:Put some good music on or something in the background, like you said. Yeah yeah, it's a good podcast game.
Speaker 3:Yeah yeah, passively watch this one's like a passive play Type of game, kinda yeah, yeah, yeah, cause you just Zone out, just zone out and just kill some mobs and just get the loot and repeat, yeah, which?
Speaker 2:is Rufrantis' that we say so. As far as shows go or movies and things like that, I want to bring up the one last thing Kraven the Hunter. This is a show, a movie that's coming out December and the actor who's playing Kraven. I was looking at the poster that they had for this At first. I was like what the hell is that Looks like Call of Duty it they had for this. At first I was like what the hell is that Looks like Call of Duty. It looks like Call of Duty. It does. It's Aaron Taylor Johnson, which is the guy, the main character from Kick-Ass.
Speaker 2:He was in Bullet Train.
Speaker 1:He's Kraven.
Speaker 3:He's Kraven.
Speaker 2:Because he's jacked up a lot. He's brolic, this kid Diesel. Just big, but not like overly, where he looks like he's been roided up. Nah, he's just straight cut. Yeah, he's cut, he's big. I think he's the perfect guy To play Kraven.
Speaker 3:Wasn't he in that movie, the train with the bullet train? Yeah, so that's him there and it looks good. He's got the stache, he's got the hair.
Speaker 2:He's scruffy looking right. Nah, he can pull the look off. He's is all it is, yeah he's a pretty boy. Yeah, he's a very pretty handsome kid. He was in the Fall Guy. That was the most recent movie that I saw him in. He played like the action star for yeah, he was good in Kick-Ass.
Speaker 3:Kick-Ass was fucking good.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he was good. And then the second one is when he started getting jacked, yeah, I remember I was like, oh shit, he came back jacked, yeah. So, so I'm excited for this. I want to see this. Let's see if they messed it up Like every other Kind of Non-Spider-Man movie, because Was it Morpheus? I haven't even. But who's making it? Is it, oh, disney? Duh, no, no, no, this one is not Disney. I don't know. Actually, I don't know who's making this one.
Speaker 3:Was it Sony? Probably Because fucking Morbius. So Sony still owns fucking Spider-Man.
Speaker 2:They're not letting that go. Yeah, oh shit. That's why Spider-Man is an in-house studio game for Places. Yeah, they own Spider-Man, oh, that's why, Disney.
Speaker 3:I mean.
Speaker 2:Yeah, disney doesn't own Spider-Man, not yet Sony owns Spider-Man. They're not letting that fucking go.
Speaker 3:No, they're not letting him go. No, they're not getting that amount. That's because he has some successful-ass movies. That is like the, that's their bread and butter, I think.
Speaker 2:That is the, that's the hero. What other hero do you know of that? Constantly, movies, video games just has that much of a hit. Superman, no way, no Batman.
Speaker 3:You can argue any X-Men game.
Speaker 2:I mean you can argue any X-Men game, I mean, that's the X-Men game, that's not one sole character. What other character I mean? Even the Iron man was the only other one that.
Speaker 3:I could see was close to there.
Speaker 2:Nah not as much as Spider-Man, Not as much as Spider-Man. No, they're never going to let him win bro, they're holding on to him for dear life. So much so that, when the PlayStationstation 3 came out, they're like let's use the same uh same font that we use for spider-man, that ps3.
Speaker 2:That's the same font for spider-man. Yeah, back the one with toby mcguire. Oh, the sam raimi movies. Yeah, that was the same font that they used. Yep, yeah, so I assume it's sony. I didn't actually look into that because it's in my head. I'm like oh, it's sony because it's spiderman.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's from that spiderman ip, so it has to be yeah, so I don't know I'm I'm looking forward to this, although you know the last one that they made. What was it? Uh, madam webb, that one didn't do that well, you know, uh, critically, and I guess box office hits, but uh, but it's on netflix too, by the way. Uh, when it was on netflix it did hit the top charts because everybody watched it there.
Speaker 3:Yeah, because they didn't pay a lot of money for it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's included in what they were already paying. Yeah, including their subscription yeah. So, have you seen it? No, did you my what?
Speaker 1:Madam Web. Madam Web, I've seen like half of it. That's it.
Speaker 2:It's it. It's not bad, it's actually. It's a decent movie. I enjoyed it. We watched it myself, with my wife and the kids. Oh, sofia, you know the little one doesn't care, but it was good. Uh, the only there are some kind of cringy bits where they're showing them in the future as these spider girls, you know, as uh, like spider gwen and whatever, or not even gwen, but like scarlet spider, whatever their names are. But those parts were a bit Korean J-Hope's, like it doesn't look right girl power yeah.
Speaker 2:Well, not even that, just the way their costumes looked and the poses that they had them in, kind of like the superhero yeah Pose, you know it's like nah, that don't look right. But uh, the movie itself was Good. The story and premise of it was good, because Madam Web is like a seer of Swords where she can look.
Speaker 3:I'm familiar with who she is? Yeah, she's like she uses her webs to see the future, the past and all that kind of shit, interdimensional and shit.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So this movie you see her get her powers. She gets her powers In this movie. You see how. I don't know if it follows the comic books, I don't know if you're going to watch it, I won't ruin anything about it for you, but yeah, it shows you how it gets the powers. I don't know if it follows the comic books, but it was competent enough for me. It was like a decent B-tier movie. I would say Fair yeah. So I'm definitely up for Craven, yeah.
Speaker 3:So it's B-tier, b-tier, b-tier-ish, yes, solid, b-tier All right, did you guys?
Speaker 2:Wow, we were supposed to talk about Gamescom. We got such off on tangents with these movies and stuff, but that's okay, that is okay. I'll make sure to title it that we get to Gamescom at the end eventually. But with Gamescom opening night live, did you guys really take a look at anything from there? I mean, the only thing I there wasn't too much necessarily that I cared about, you know, um, uh, what is his name? Joff geoff keely. Jeff keely, yeah, he uh pretty much said yeah, we're not.
Speaker 2:It's, don't expect to see anything crazy, it's not like that. It's, you know, continuing stuff. There's like plucky squire, which is that little indie game that we've been waiting to see come out, goes from the page of the book to to a 3d style that's coming out september 17 and it will be on playstation plus. And then the only other thing that I really really cared to look at because there were some games and you know wasn't anything and whatever jumped out to you guys, if you did see anything I didn't see anything yet, so yeah, same here well, I will talk about.
Speaker 2:The only thing that I really cared about was that they actually went through. As you would expect for monster hunter, they went through a full um. What is it like? A full mission, right for the, the developers playing it? Uh, you know, it just looks so good. It looks so good. It looks so good. I mean, you're sitting there, you're right into the world, you can jump onto that sacred so quickly and basically just follow the monsters. And remember when in the what is it called? In the last trailer that they had for it, where they were talking about the sacred and they mentioned that it can take you to your um, to the boss, the mission boss, that you have to do, so you don't even have to drive it or steer it or whatever maneuver. The way that it's going, it just goes. It just goes. It follows that little green path and it goes to the monster directly to you jump on. It takes you right there, and so I'm a my little butt hurts still about that. I'm like come on these kids, it's streamlined man.
Speaker 3:That's it. These kids Just want to get in and get out. These kids.
Speaker 1:This might be my first one.
Speaker 3:Yeah, they don't want to sit there and collect birds to max out your stats. I know.
Speaker 2:I know it's good. It's good in that way. It is good. I guess I I'm sure once I start doing it I'll love it, as long as I don't think about man, these kids coming in here now got it easy.
Speaker 3:Maybe, like maybe for the first time, you'll just do it auto like that, and then the next time, then you go explore, you go look around, see what kind of like you know the, the slingshot is still there you get used to like automatic.
Speaker 1:You just want automatic it's's like driving, you know Like you manual before and then you switch to automatic. Manual is fun though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, manual is fun, but except when you hit traffic. Then it's like, or in a hill you have to balance your clutch.
Speaker 2:Yeah yeah, no, but the, I hope they still do. The Okay, no, the first one. You have to do like we were saying, play bi, play a biologist, and collect the specimens and things to actually level up the ideology thing of it, level up the monster you're trying to hunt, yeah, so that then you can just follow your path. But the only other big thing that I really saw, aside from it looking much prettier so usually with Monster Hunter you have one, maybe two, as it started progressing through the generations and getting onto stronger consoles of monsters that you would have in any given area, bro, now the big monster that you're hunting can sometimes hunt in a pack, like they showed that big bear dog looking thing. Was it a pack of four or?
Speaker 3:something like that.
Speaker 2:There was a pack of three of them. So you know, like, say, rathalos, I don't think they'll do this with Rathal three of them. So you know, like, say, rothalos, I don't think they'll do this with rothalos, but you know that's the monster that you're gonna hunt, right? It's a very big monster, right? So think of it like that where it's a big bear that they had looks it has a weird dog face, there's just the one that you're supposed to go hunt. But there happened to have been a pack of three of them and this is something that's, you know, the artificial intelligence of it, you know which is.
Speaker 2:You know, video games always had ai, right, but that's built into it so that they act more natural, so they seem like actual wild animals. They might not always form a pack, they might be split up. You can throw the dung bomb which you know, usually in the games you would throw that to have it go away from. You feel like, oh man, this thing's killing me. I need some, I need a breather, breather. You throw the dung bomb. They all just disperse like it smells like shit in here and it just runs yeah, they.
Speaker 2:You split them up that way, right, so that you can hunt the one by itself as opposed to getting attacked by three of them. Um, and then, of course, they have the oh man, I forgot what they call it where they fight for their area, or whatever.
Speaker 3:Territory, yeah, the territory fights.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, yeah, so you have a it's kind of like Turf Wars, yes, turf Wars.
Speaker 2:Oh, there you go, so you have some if there's another monster now in that area, because, mind you, there's already three big monsters, but you still have other huge monsters that are roaming the area. So those big monsters that are going around can create, you can create a turf war if you have them, follow you towards the other one and then they'll fight. Uh, you can have the little, uh, raptor, velociraptor. Looking guys, I forgot what the jaggies, not even the jaggy. The jaggy was bigger, but the little ones, yeah, the little mini baby velocifray was itpre?
Speaker 2:was it Velocipre? I know what you're talking about, yeah, but those guys Like, if you there was a scene where he knocked down the one of the big monsters that he was fighting and then all of the little opportunistic things that they were just started jumping on it, attacking it, and then you see, all like these little damage counters come up from all of the little monsters attacking it. So even they get on the thing now too, if they find an opportunity to attack, yeah, like to hunt and stuff. So it's like, oh, he's good, get him. So, basically, what it is is kind of the takeaway point from it is it's more lifelike than ever before. Hence the name Wilds, right, yeah, monster Hunter Wilds. So it's more lifelike in the way that you're playing Hunter, the things that you're seeing. You're, you know, watching out for all the other monsters.
Speaker 2:And I did also see him switch to the secondary Bogan when he was on the Sacred, as the thing was running away. You know, you get on your mount so you follow it and he's just shooting at it. While it's following the thing, he's like bah, bah, bah, trying to make it stop. That's cool, yeah, that, so you can do that Kind of stuff now, which is very cool. Yeah, no, I'm so hyped for this game I didn't need To see this Because, guaranteed, we're gonna play this. By the time this comes out, I'll be done with school, so I'm gonna Hopefully have a lot more Free time and yeah, boys, we're gonna get down when are you guys Gonna buy it PS5 or Steam PS5.
Speaker 2:I might buy it on PS5 and Steam, because I do want to play with Sofia too. My kid Fuck.
Speaker 1:See, that's the thing. You want trophies, you go PS5 and buy the subscription.
Speaker 3:The Geek of Access, and whoever has the most by then I'll have my PC. So I'll probably get on PC yeah.
Speaker 1:I mean, I have my Argiada. That's why I'm thinking if I wanted to Play it there, just like Wukong, because I've seen that 60 FPS Wukong.
Speaker 2:On RG. No, that's good. If it runs well, I will get it on PC, also for the Steam Deck. Either way, that's the only way I'll be able to play with my Dota 2, unless I get it for the Xbox, which I don't want to do that, but I'm getting both. I get it for that, unless.
Speaker 3:I get it for the Xbox, which I don't want to do that, but I'm getting both.
Speaker 2:Getting both. I want to play that so bad. Like I said, I didn't need to see any of everything they were showing. I didn't even watch the whole hour and a half hour video, just exactly what you wanted, Monster Hunter.
Speaker 2:Monster Hunter, more monsters in one area, lifelike reactions from the animals and just more things for you to be able to do to manage the hunt better. I'm so excited. And other than that from Gamescom, there were other games I saw. Honestly, I didn't even put them down because I was like I don't care about that. You know I care, but not enough to sit here and talk about it for however long. You know what I mean. There's games coming out guys from Gamescom. You know what I mean. There's games coming out guys from Gamescom opening night live YouTube.
Speaker 2:It Big surprise. I'm sure there's probably something out there. I'm like, oh yeah, I forgot about that, but Monster Hunter, that's the one Alright, since you brought it up. Wukong, I think we've mentioned. I'm the only one that's been playing it. Right, yeah, right now. Yeah, right now. Watch out.
Speaker 3:I want to know if that PC port is good to go.
Speaker 2:So the it is good to go though. Yeah, so every reviewer got PC codes. Nobody got any console codes for the reviews. Every review you see out there is basically done from PC, right. I did hear some people here and there had some issues with crashes and stuff like that, but for the most part it runs fine. It runs great on PS5 also, I haven't necessarily had any hiccups.
Speaker 2:The only funny thing immediately when I booted up the game that scared me was because it asks you in the beginning okay, do you want to do balanced, prioritize frame rate or prioritize fidelity? So I just I was like, go on. I was like, let me go back and forth, back and forth. I was literally switching like that Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, like switching between each option, crashed the game. I was like don't tell me, this game is not optimized. No, I was like, do I need to get a refund? I opened it up again. I was like, let me see, I started doing the same thing.
Speaker 2:I was like, okay, I should have gone, didn't say it's not crashing, that crash, it crashed again after a little bit longer. I was like, oh, okay, I guess it has to do with it trying to switch between the different options. Um, so don't do that, it overload. Yeah, it'll probably patch it up eventually. Yeah, I mean it's not a big deal. I've been playing it. I'm on chapter three now. I say maybe have like eight to 10 hours on it, maybe, no, no, when did I buy this?
Speaker 1:What you played it since yesterday the whole day. No, no, no, I read it the whole day.
Speaker 2:He'd since yesterday the whole day. No, I know I read it the whole day. He'd beat it. Did I today's thursday, right, so I would. I get it tuesday maybe? Oh so, maybe, let's say five to ten hours, I don't know, somewhere in between there, right? Uh, the biggest thing everyone's saying it's not really like a show's like, right, okay, so the big things not like a show's like, uh, the voice acting was one of the things that I heard that they still had some Chinese Writing in there, that they didn't Fix out yet For the American port or the English port, and that there's no parry. So first is, what was I saying when the first one was?
Speaker 3:It's not a souls like.
Speaker 2:It definitely feels enough like one To call it.
Speaker 3:Oh, it is a Souls-like.
Speaker 2:I would say so. So people say it's not a Souls-like, because it is not a Souls game.
Speaker 2:You level up, right, you level up, but not by you level up by experience points, right, you still do collect currency when you kill enemies. That they call will, the will you can use to purchase things, craft different things, because you craft your weapons Depending on different points in the game. You get, you unlock, the ability to craft a certain thing, right? Yeah, uh, potions, armor, weapons, um, other little things. You get magic abilities. It's they they call it different things that have might to have mana, but it's basically all that. Right, a Might is your stamina, pretty much kind of thing. Mana, you know it's your mana for MP. So you get magic by doing different story beats and also by beating certain enemies. That lets you summon certain things.
Speaker 2:When you die, you don't lose experience, obviously, because you get it in real time and it's put into the character and you level up after you. If you get it's put into the character and you level up after you if you get enough experience. After you beat somebody, you level up, you level up, you get a skill point and that's the leveling system. For that you don't lose will. There's nothing to go get. Once you die, you just go back and do what you were doing, or you can go a different way. So that's one of the big things where people were saying it's not really like a sort of like they still have. Uh, they have shrines, which is like the bonfire and and uh what is the characters and stuff.
Speaker 2:If you rest there, you reset the character, but at that place you can change it. Um, you can craft weapons. You can do different things. Um, you can reset your skill points at any time at no cost, so you'll get back whenever you want. You can respect whenever you want, you can take off one skill point from something that you tried and didn't like it, or you can just reset everything, so it allows you to do it. In that way, it's really good. Um, until they patch it.
Speaker 3:No, they're not gonna patch that. I think that's kind of cool because it lets you build whatever you want to build.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 3:Without consequence.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and this actually has more story and it's based on the Monkey King, which is Journey to the West, which is basically what Goku from Dragon Ball Z is based off of. That's why he has the Nimbus Cloud. You see him riding it in the beginning.
Speaker 3:Specifically Dragon Ball.
Speaker 2:Yeah, when he's little, yeah, yeah yeah, and he still gets it in the beginning of dragon ball z, but um, and he has the extending power pole which you know you can, you can use. There are different stances that you can unlock for this, which don't necessarily change the way you fight, aside from some minor skills and the charge heavy attack. There's the I forgot to call it the power stance. It's like you know, you slam down the pole. There's the I forgot to call it. The power stance is like you know, you slam down the pole. There's the I forgot the name of it but the second, because I only use the first one. I haven't needed to switch to the other ones.
Speaker 3:I don't want to, um I don't want to, because it's the one that I like uh, they have the, uh, the second stance.
Speaker 2:You could basically stand on top of the pole and go higher right as you charge up different things To avoid lightning attacks or whatever. Different things. Yeah, which they call the four Elements. Yeah, they call it the four something I forgot. What like the four hindrances? Let's say that's not the right thing, but it's basically poison, lightning, burn and Ice, ice, maybe I believe ice, because ice is one of the things that I have resistance to that's all there is right.
Speaker 2:And then there's the third one, where he has the hold the heavy button, where he shoots the not shoots but like extend the power pole forward to hit an enemy from far away. And of course, there's different abilities that you can unlock, with each one right again those you can reach back at any time. You can unlock with each one right Again those you can reach back at any time. You can change it however you want it to be. So far, the way I've been doing it works out just fine. I'm able to do everything I want to do, everything I need to do, just fine. So the second thing, it is when was it? I should have written this down.
Speaker 2:Oh, shit it kind of sounds like. Anyways, the game itself. Right, it definitely is a source, I would say, to me at least, it has a very good story so far.
Speaker 1:I have it in Chinese, of course, so that I can get a good experience with it, like a patch about the Chinese. Oh right right yeah, so they obviously this was review codes.
Speaker 2:There was during review that people were saying there are some things that I have here that are in. Damn, you are breathing hard under my skin.
Speaker 1:There are some things that they have in this Trying to do the Darth Vader, yeah.
Speaker 2:Breathe of Wukong. Nobody's hurt, but he got so surprised. You know, everything is in English, the way that it should be for the things that you're reading the dialogue, the subtitles, everything like that. I have it in Chinese. Anyways, it's because better voice acting, I always think to have it in the original uh voice, um, always when you're watching anime, when you're playing like gacha games, it's always like the original voices, voices
Speaker 2:and the story is good enough that I want to pay attention to it. I'm enjoying it, I like it right, uh, and then the third thing about there not being a parry. There is kind of a parry, I say so there's not a guard button, there is no guard. You are, you don't block, you don't, so you attack well, sure you attack and dodge no, no, no, no, we'll get to that, but there's no guard.
Speaker 1:You can perfect perfect parry is like you know. You guys know what perfect perry yeah attack when he attacks. No, no, no, we'll get to that okay we'll get to that.
Speaker 2:He said, but there's no guard button, there's only a dodge right, and you guys might hear some lawnmowers going. So I'm sorry if you hear that, but there's a, there's a dodge button. Then you can do perfect dodges and you use that to essentially, you know, throughout every battle and stuff right, and there's this cool kind of thing that shows you an afterimage when you do a perfect dodge. Ah, and after you do the perfect dodge, you basically leave that afterimage and it has this cool little sound effect that goes off. You have different abilities, of course, where you can use something called cloud stepping, which is one of the ones that I like a lot. When you do cloud step, you can basically leave that after image behind and enter the different realm, almost kind of thing, and it's a trying to attack your after image.
Speaker 2:That has a certain set amount of HP. You can come back, attack and all that kind of stuff. Now, going to the parry section of it, there's pseudo ways to parry, because you can have an ability that, as someone is going to attack you, you have a focus meter right. So as you attack, you're building up this focus meter. The more you level up, you can hold different amounts of focus and they look like little balls. Each little focus ball allows you to, in the middle of your light hit combo, use the heavy attack button to do a heavy attack within that combo. If you don't have any focus, you can't use a heavy attack during a combo at all, unless you get this other ability later on, which is like level 30.
Speaker 3:Now, when you do hit those pips right with those balls, is it devastating, it hurts.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so you can. Depending on how hard you hit them or maybe how many times you hit them with a heavy attack, you can stagger them slightly where they kind of, oh you know, step back a little bit, head goes down oh you hurt me, or you hit them again, or hit them really hard, because you can charge it up just by hitting holding triangle to charge up the focus and then let it go. Or if you have three focus already set up, just hit it and then he'll slam down using all three focus where it'll hit them, even bosses, and knock them like rolling onto the floor and you get a couple of seconds to go and attack them and then with that, yeah, then you can use them, attack them and all that stuff. But you can only attack with the heavy attacks during a combo, when you have focus.
Speaker 2:If you have this certain ability unlocked that I forgot what it sees through the enemy's attacks, it's basically you're parrying with the heavy attack because you're not hitting it to where you're parrying it and stopping it. You're essentially eating the shot. It heals you a little bit instead of hurting you and you still slam down with the heavy attack. There's an ability later. That's a magic ability that you can get. That it's like a steel skin pretty much. You turn into like a rock type of steel version of himself and that becomes the type of thing that is like the guard that they go to hit it and it bounces off and you can counter attack. You have to time that in the correct way but you need mana for it it just sounds complicated.
Speaker 3:No, it's not.
Speaker 2:It's not so they introduce everything in you know sections and it's really good. Though I like the battle mechanics of it, I find that it's not so hard. Right now I'm not having the most difficult time. There are some enemies that I've had to take a little couple of times, maybe four or five times. There's items, of course, that you can use. That makes things much easier, which I use. That one, I just want to be this guy and get out of here. But for the most part the difficulty, I think, is fair. Some people out there say it's so fucking hard, other people it's so easy. I find that if you there's other side stuff to do, that you can unlock other things. That makes it much easier. But I definitely recommend the game. It's very good. I'm enjoying it, especially since we all like Elden Ring and Souls-like games. If you out there you like Souls-like games, definitely play it. It's good.
Speaker 3:All right, I'll try it out. I'll try it out. I'll try it out.
Speaker 2:I'll try it out. I'll get it on PC. Yeah, it's basically Journey to the West. You're playing the Monkey King story. If you're familiar with it, you'll know what to expect.
Speaker 1:Yeah, sounds good.
Speaker 2:Fallen, god Circled around the head. All that good stuff, nice yeah. Before we head out, boys, is there anything you guys want to add so we don't have to Keep hearing these Lawnmowers?
Speaker 3:Not much for me. Nah, just been playing Dave the Diver and it's a good game. Fucking, get it. Play it, Dave the Diver is good, very good.
Speaker 2:It's a very good game. Do it All right. So until next time. We thank you all for coming to listen. We hope that everyone comes back to listen next time. Again, thank you all for coming. Until then.
